27 years behind bars

The last known prisoner that left in the Chinese prisons for participating in the pro-democracy protests in Tiananmen 1989 will leave prison this October. Miao Deshun was sentenced to death penalty although that the sentence was suspended and now he is serving a life for burn a tank during the clashes with the army, when the Chinese government decided to use force to dislodge the thousands of protesters who had occupied in a peacefully way the square shape for months.

Miao had been 27 years behind bars and his sentence has been reduced three times; he entered in prison when he was 25 years old and now, he’s 51. He will be free on October 15, according to ONG although the Chinese Justice has not confirmed the information yet.

He was one of the 1,600 detainees who received formal prison sentences. Despite being a misdemeanour, his sentence was so long because, unlike other prisoners, Miao refused to sign letters of repentance and did not carry out prison labours. In fact, he not even appealed the sentence when he was sentenced to death at first.

The prisoner hasn’t had any contact with the outside world for several years, he hasn’t seen his family for a decade because he asked them not to go to visit him and even, sometimes, he refused to meet with the people who go to prison for seeing him. In fact, one of his companions in prison said that Miao has "severe mental problems", including schizophrenia, besides being sick of Hepatitis B.

China punished thousands of people after the harsh repression of demonstrations by the army. In addition to the thousand who were sent to prison, much more were assigned to forced labour camps to be re-educated and to be labelled as "counterrevolutionaries”. Currently, the families of the victims continue to seek justice and compensation for what happened, but Pekin continues silencing the facts and subjecting to surveillance the activists and families every time that the 4th June approach, the day that tanks of the Chinese army entered the streets of Pekin and ended in  with dreams of democracy of the student movement.

Three Spanish journalists released in Siria

Spanish journalists Antonio Pampliega, Jose Manuel Lopez and Angel Sastre, who had been kidnapped in Aleppo (Syria) since October of the last year, have been released, according to government sources. All three are safe and are now in Turkey, where the Spanish authorities have already sent a plane to facilitate their repatriation.

The same sources have also reported that the release of the journalists had taken place few hours ago and the Prime Minister, Soraya Saenz de Santamaria, has already contacted with them. She has also suggested that the release has been possible thanks to the work of many public servants and the collaboration of allied and friendly countries, mainly in the finals from Turkey and Qatar.

The last time that the authorities had contact with  them was on 12 July 2015. They were in the city of Aleppo, under control of Al-Nusra Front, the Syrian branch of Al Qaeda. The three journalists, who worked as a freelancer (self-employed), had entered in Syria from Turkey only two days before.

The zone where the journalist disappeared had been the scene of heavy fighting. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported shortly before the trail Pampliega, Lopez and Sastre were lost, that at least 11 journalists more were killed.

One of the journalist that had been rescued, Antonio Pampliega, owns a very interesting blog (https://unmundoenguerra.wordpress.com/). Pampliega, since 2008, is dedicated to cross the world of war and in this blog, he writes about the experiences, the interviews that he had with people around the world, … in that way, this blog becomes a way of show us “the other part of the world”, a world in war that also exist and where the line between life and death is governed by a Kalashnikov bang; as Pampliega says, “this blog is our eyes for reveal truths that remain dormant and is the voice of the people who don’t have one”.

So in this blog, you can join the journalist for this world of wars that almost have no place in media, he has made possible to accommodate all those forgotten conflicts and rescue from oblivion all who had suffered because of the war and have given voice to them for tell their stories.

Relatios Salvajes

I few days ago, I saw this film because my siter Berta had seen it in the cinema and she was delighted with it. This is a weird film because consists in six diferents stories indpeendent one from the others, the only conexion between each story is that all of them are about the alteration thta all the characters suffer for diferents reason and in differents ways and that lead the character to the "outbreak" I mean, all the characters suffer an extrem reaction wich lead them to react also in a "extrem way". Well, when I tell you what's about each history you will undetsrand why I mean.
All the stories were shoot in Argentina and directed by Damian Szifron, Cristian Trebotic and Natalia Urruty. The firts one, "Pasternak" is one of the shortests histories but also, one of the best! It take place in a plne whose passengers start to talk to each other and they find out that all of them have something else in common than the fact of have risen to the same plane, and is that all of them, in one way or another, have participate, causing a "misfortune", in the life of Pastenak.Suddenly, the plane start to lose altitude because the pilot (who is Pasternak!!) is directing the plane in to his parents house. Pasternak make a revange to all the people, including his parents, that in one way or another, have ruined his life.

The next story, "The Rats" it's about another revange. In this case the action take place in a restaurant in the middle of anywhere; when the cooker of this restaurant learns of the injustice committed by some of her customers to the restaurant waitress, she decided to put poison in the food of the client; the situation get worst and the cooker decided to kill this client with a knife!

The next one, "The Strongest" is also one of the best and i think thta it's my favourite. It's about a dispute on the road between a man who drives an Audi and another who drives a ramshackle car. This "road fight" ends in a battle for kill the other and at the end, both of the men die after make blow one of the cars and the best is that when police arrives, describe the escene like a "passioal crime" because the men die one cought to the other while they were trying to strangle each other.

The penultimate story, "The proffer", it's about a millonaire father who through accords and briber the others (police officers, lawyers, ...) tries to blame his gardener of the crime of his son.

And at least, the last one: "Untill death do us apart" that it's about a Jewsih wedding that can not get worse: during the celebration, the bride learns of a betray of the groom and she decided to take revange and bertrays the groom with one of the waiters, there are fights, woundeds,... and when all is in his limit (both groom and bride are with their clothes shattered, falling apart, both families confronted,...) the couple reconcilies. 

I think that with this film you have to go far  for not see only the violence. It is about human feels like revange, justice or portection taken to the limit untill the charcater can't hold back any longer and blows up and then, is when the violence appears, I think thta it's a good example (taken a little to the limits) of our society. I recommend it because also it's a little hard to see, I think that worth it!!

Greece faces the challenge of handling thousands of requests for asylum

Exhausted by the economic crisis, now Greece has to face a huge migration crisis. This July, when Greece moves away from an “economic crack”, every day thousands of migrants arrived at the Greek islands, a flow that keeps growing. In only December, arrived more than 200.000 persons but then, Greece were just a scale, the Greek authorities only have to attend the emigrants a few days and then, let them continue their journey to the north, to Germany especially. But now this is impossible, the borders are closed and Greek is overflow.

Since January, the Greek authorities have received more than 10.000 asylum applications what suppose a problem for the government: the process of revising this request can take years, each case must be attended individually, in a confidential way, interviewed by asylum experts, with interpreter and a lawyer and for this, the government has decided to approve a new law with the objective of examining in an expressway (by 15 days) the asylum applications.  Meanwhile, more than 2.800 refugees are living in makeshift refugee camps in hockey and football stadiums.

I find this new interesting because we can see very clear that although each government of each European country is very conscious about human rights and the importance of respect them, into practice, all is very different. This is not one of the worst new you can find about what refugees are living. Day after day, hundreds of people try to arrive at our countries risking their lives and also, the life of their families and leaving everything behind. 

This last weekend I was watching a football match on TV and I see a poster that gets my attention: “Not to racism”. Immediately comes to my head the image of thousands of refugees who day by day try to cross our borders and reach Europe while we close the door. Is not this a form of discrimination? I know and I understand that a country can’t welcome thousands of refugees day in day out, but governments should be more conscious about the situation of these people and must take decisions: it can’t be that millions of men, women, child,… have to be living in precarious conditions in our borders because the governments are still “taking decisions”, many of the refugees that arrive at our countries have already faced many problems (the war, what supposed to leave your country, the immigration journey,…) for finding our doors close. For this I think that what Europe is doing with refugees it can’t be considered racism, the racism is de discrimination toward a person and Europe is dehumanizing refugees.

"A castle for my princess"

Like almost every girl in the world, Emily Heaton wanted to be a princess. This don't have anyhing of strange or excepcional and neither her model: it wasn't the Spain queen otherwise a Dinsey princess.

Jeremiah Heaton, the father, is the owner of a security company in the coal mines in the region of Abingdon, at the south of the Virginia State. Two years ago, he was asked by his daughter if some day she would be a real princess. He thought that she was acting like every girl in her age (she was 6 years old) and he answered of course she WOULD. The problem was that Emily was talking seriously and she said thait "it was soemthing importnat for she". So that, Heaton STARTED to search around the world a place without owner where his doughter could be the princess, and the last month he finally has found it: he planted a flag (made by the three soon of Jeremiah) in Bir Tawil, a piece of te Sahara desert of 2.060 square kilometers and between Egypt and Sudan and until now, unclaimed by any of the neighboring countries. So since the last 16th of April, Emily is a princess, but this is not all: recently, Disney had announced that after almost a year of talks with the Heatons family, they have decided to make a film with this story: the adventure of the father for try to give to his doughter a place where she could be the princess. Emily can't ask for more!

But, like in every Disney movie, there is always the bad character althought in this case, here are two bad characters: the reality and politics. It's true that Bir Tawil is a "empty place" I mean, anybody has claimed it untill now, but you need the approval of the International Comunity (starting with Sudan and Egypt) for impose a sovereignty. Further, you need to pas by Sudan or Egypt for arrive to this area and in one side, Sudan appears in the list of "The states sponsors of terrorism" and the United States don't allow you to travel to this country. In the other side, the departament of Egypt took motnhs fo give a permission to Jeremiah for travel to this area and besides, it tooks three days to him to arrive to Bir Tawil so it's a little inaccessible place.

Heaton has explain thta it will took a lot of paperwork achieve the recognition of the International Comunity and the governements but he also say that it will not stop him and even less since Emily explained what she wants to do in her kingdom: she wants "a garden" in for give food to everybody. So as a result of this wish, the intention of Jeremiah is try to create the infraestructures to convert this "kingdom" at the headquarters of a reserach center for the fight against hunger. 

In the other hand we have the second "Dinsey witch": the political. What for someone is a fairy tale, for others is the same colonialism did in the last century: a white man planting his band in an african country for make happy to his doughter. 

I don't know what to think about this NEW, it seems a little stupid, you know? In fact, at first, I didn't believe that it was a real notice, I mean, is nice that a father do wathever for make sure his soons are happy, but there are limits, aren't it? Besides, this is what the girl wants now when she is 8 years old (I don't know how to descrive this girl: ambitious for aspire to have a kingdom with her age or maybe capricious and spoilt because we don't have to forget that the father is doing what he can and more for make sure his daugther is a real princess), but what would she want when she grow up? Althought, it has to be said that the girl have good intentions: fight agains the hunger... Anyway, I would like to know what it's going to be her next birthay present, this is insuperable!! Well, maybe no, you never know with Jeremiah Heaton. 

A theft of movie

A manor house located in a quiet neighbourhood in the centre of Madrid has been the scene of the major contemporary art theft occurred in Spain in recent decades: five paintings worth in 30 million euros of the great Irish painter Francisco Bacon who died in Madrid in 1992.

The thief took place this last July and the police are investigating as quietly as possible the whereabouts of this collection. They are looking for the works in and out of Spain and although they still have not results, they believe that the paintings haven’t left the country.

This works were from J.B.C, a 59 years old friend of the painter and also, an art amateur who received them in heritage after his death.

The blow was very fast and quite. The authors of the theft take advantage of the absence for a few hours of the owner from the house located in a heavily guarded area a few meters from the Senate. Neither the keepers of the estate, of five heights, or the neighbours saw or heard anything. The thieves were able to disconnect the alarm and for this, the security centre didn’t receive any notice so they could walk through the house and take the five painting and other valuables objects. Moreover, the police suspected that while the robbery was taking place, other members of the band were watching the owner for tell if he returned home.

Police also guarded, without luck, Arco (the art fair that take place in Madrid and that suppose the home of dozens of galleries around the world that attracts buyers from different nationalities) hoping to know about some movement of the stolen paintings.

So the robbery was a work of professionals: they don’t let any fingertip or loose ends to help track them and also, for the planning.

New book on the shelves of the Germany high schools

If the educational authorities of the country and the German government accept the proposal of the Association of Teachers and Education Minister, a new critic edition of the Mein Kampf (1925) will become a compulsory lecture and will be studied in all German high schools.

This book has been the most polemic and dangerous book in Germany and whose reprint has been prevented for 70 years. But now, taking advantage that the rights of the book written by the head of the Holocaust due this year, a small government sector want to introduce the new edition commented in the educational system.

This book contains both autobiographical data and the nationalist, racist and violent ideology of the author. Introducing that book into the high schools, according to the authorities, should serve to immunize German youth against the extremism political. They also think that the thought of the dictator should have an answer of the  21st century Germany youth and in that way, instead of allow that the charm of the forbbiden captivates the young people (because they can find this book on Internet), is much better that the students know this text helped by their teachers: it’s a good idea talk about this topic.

The oppositions to this proposal hasn’t been slow to appear and in fact, there are several politic sectors and different associations that consider that the new edition could serve to help spread the Hitler thoughts.

I think that this proposal is a right one and it comes at the right time: in German schools, the holocaust and the collective responsibility were spoke before any other place and, after all, we’re talking about one of the books that have had most influence on the Germany population in the history of the country and from now one, it will be on the shelves of the high schools besides other works; that one will not be there for his quality but for the capacity and the power that it have had, I mean, for the capacity of mobilizing an entire country.

As well as, in that way, German students will not just know what Hitler said but they will know what and why. In fact, I think that it is impossible to achieve a knowledge without understand. We know what was the anti-Semitism of Hitler but we don’t understand why for Adolf Hitler was more important exterminate a race than win the war. Yes, of course, we have plenty of theories, hypothesis, causes and motivations but no one of this explains or justifies adequately what happened and for this, I think, this “catastrophe” still being incomprehensible for us.

Summing up, I think that the moment of talk about this topic in schools has come: the risk of the Mai Kampf it isn't to make readers into neo-Nazis, but it is that we remove the importance that it have had taking it as a book of the past that nothing has to do with us.

An injustice in capital letters

Palestinian poet and artist Ashraf Fayadh has been sentenced to death. This case started when the religious police of Palestine, arrested Fayadh in 2013 on account of a complaint from a Saudi citizen that accused him of obscene comments against God, against the Prophet Muhammad and against the Saudi Estate and for propagate atheism in public places. 

He was newly arrested in 2014, when prosecutors accused him of several charges of blasphemy for his book of love poems Within Instruction published ten years ago. Prosecutors also accuse him of mocking God and the prophets of Coran. He was sentenced to four years in prison and 800 lashes and, in this case, the fiscal refuse the death penalty by repentance of the accused poet. But this last November, another judge reviewed the case and now, he has been sentenced to death as he considered that the repentance was not enough. 

Important cultural figures from different countries have joined to protest against this death sentence, misfortune that unfortunately adds the death of the father of the writer after suffering a heart attack last week when he heard the news.

Amongst those who has supported Fayadh, now refugee in Saudi Arabia, we can find Chris Decon, the British poet Carol Ann Duffy, the British writer David Hare, the Egyptian novelist Ahdaf Soueif, the Sirius poet Adonis, the Irish writer Paul Muldoon, the historian of the United Kingdom Simon Schama and many more in addition to a dozen of organizations and associations from the United Kingdom, the United States and from Africa, who have signed a statement defending the freedom of the poet and the freedom of expression.

I choose this new because it show us that, nowadays, in the 21st century, not everybody in everywhere has the rights that should have. At least in our country or in the Europe Union, is unthinkable that someone could be arrested for give his opinion and even less, that this person could be sentenced to death! This shows us that we are not as advanced as we thought (although a country as the United Sates, one of the "most moderns" the death penalty still exists). For this, I agree with those intellectuals who has risen against this because is an injustice in capital letters.

"We are digging our own graves"

One of the main conclusions of the European Environmental Agency is that the European Union have to impose most ambitious new policy measures if they want to achieve the objectives proposed for 2050. Although in recent years the current legislation has improved a lot of water and air quality, these measures are "insufficient" because there are still many challenges, among which highlight the following ones as the most important:

Among the major European challenge we find the health of the population, in danger for the atmospheric pollution. Currently, over than the 20% of the European urban population is living exposed to high levels of pollution, higher than those that the legislation required. And important fact to remember is that exposure to high levels of pollution was the responsible of 430.000 premature deaths in Europe last year.

In second place, we find the need of reduce the emission of gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect. And finally, the report also warn about the exposure to traffic noise, the noise coming from the industrial activities,... that also was the responsible of nearly 10.000 cases of premature deaths in the community. 

I think that is important to, among all, try to reduce our ecological footprint because we are destroying our planet. In fact, the report warns us that if we don't stop this, the natural phenomena will be more and more aggressive because of the climate change, and this will lead to the pollution of the water, of the air and also, of our health! For this, we must remedy the damage we are doing, it's like we were digging our own graves: we are the only ones responsible for climate change and also, were the only ones affected. 

I know it's difficult to change our way of life because we are costumed to this kind of life and probably, most of us think: "who care, when the planet stop holding us I’ll be more than death". But this is not idea, we are the responsible of what is happening and is in our hand stop this. It's not necessary that one day to another you stop using your car, but there are plenty of minimal things that you can do every day. For example, instead of poured down toxic chemical wastes as paint, motor oil,... you can depose them in the specific sites, you can by local goods that reduce the air pollution, I'm sure you can use less electricity, lees water and also, produce less waste! All of this are simple things that everybody can do in their daily routines so, if you think that break the harm we are doing to our planet was a difficult thing, you were wrong!

Christmas lottery spot

If you think about Christmas Lottery spot, for sure, you will remember about the one of the last year in wich Manuel enters in his frequent bar, thta has win the lottery, for take a coffe. At the beggining of the spot, manuel is sad because he's the only one that hasn't buy the ticket of the lottery, but his friend, Antonio (thta is also the boss of the bar) give him one of the win numbers. The mesage of this spot, apart of the solidarity of Christmas, was that "the greatest reward is share". So, if you remember this famous spot, the one that they have prepared for us this year... 

Don't you ever think about what happened with Antonio and Manuel, the protagonist of the last year spot? Will Antonio still have opened the bar? Well, no longer answer for all: the life of excess of Manuel has taken him ahead. Or at least, this is what the new short of Tuti Fernandez represents (in a comic way).

"The idea came in a meal. We were talking about the announcement of this year, that didn't convince us because it was similar than the story of the last year" said the director, that after this meal he called to the characters of the last year and they started to record the spot. 

 In it, Antonio (played by the same actor, Julian Valcárcel), appears alone, sitting on the bench in a garden having a conversation with her friend or at least, what remains of him and talking about what had happen in a year: Manuel get divorced, after win the lottery they travel to Ibiza,... and as he say "800,000 euros we have spent, you and me in a year, 800,000 euros, which is not easy... It has merit!" And now, Antonio is in front of a psychiatric to take the ashes of Manuel friend to his wife

If in 2014, the moral was "The greatest reward is to share" and after 365 days and spending 800,000 euros, the new moral could not be other than: "Remember, if you got the lottery this year, not waste it".

Six new tombs are found in Egypt

An egyptian archeologicalmission has discovered six tombs of the pharaoinic era in the hill of the river Nile and with some trousseau that survived to the treasure hunters. With this collection of graves the necropolis is finally completed: the graves belong to the XXVI Dynasty (664-525 BC), time in wich the court established in the city of Sais, in the Nile Delta and at the other end of Egypt and where the dinasty resisted untill the Persian conquest and according to Mustafa Jalil, the leader of one of the egyptian missions that explore this are, these burials match with the architectual style of the time sayed previously.

Of the galleries and rooms of the tombs, the experts have rescued a small fortune: a collection of sarcophagi made by limestone and wood and whee the mummies where laying intact, statues representing the four sons of th God Horus (Amset, Duamuetef, Haoy and Qebehsenuf), keepers of the viscera of the mummi and some amulets in various shapes, sizes and colors and a samall wooden figueres of hawks (thta represents de God Horus).

Another importnat discovery with this area was made by an Spanish group of archielogics. A few meters from this finding, has been working for seven years a Soanish expedition lead by Alejandro Jimenez of the University of Jaen, and last March, the team plus another expedition of the University of Granada, issued an important discovery: the first evidence o breast cancer in the history, found in one of the skeletons of a woman who lived 4200 years ago and that was buried in one of the tombs.

This is not the end #forçagirona

This last day of league in the Liga Adelante (Second division) has left a lot to talk. In these last matches were decided wich teams will play next year in firts division, wich teams will remain in the same division and wich teams will down to Second B, and one of the most important matches were played in  Montilivi, Girona. With only win the match, Girona would have been one of the teams that the next year will be play in firts division. Everything pointed that this could happen but there was a dramatic end in Girona. The Lugo team directed by José María Sánchez, left no party for the Girona team thanks to a goal of Paul Knight in the injury time that suppossed the final tie. The polemic comes when at the next shot, one of the referees annul a goal of Girona that would have given the rise again to first dividion. With this last decision of the referee, the crow went wild and from the stands was launched a water bottle that hit on of the assistants and the referee decided to suspent the match. Twenty minutes later and with a little public in the stands, the meeting was resumed only for fifty seconds that make imposible that the score move (even José Sánchez couldn't get on time to the field as  he was in the press room).

The desesperation of the Girona players, the feeling of injustice and imptence at the end of the match was the only thing visible in the field, in fact, there have been some declarations and charges of premiuem payments for the Lugo players and also, charges of the purchase of the Betis game agiants Sporting de Gijón, the other polemic match of this last weekend of league. Some Girona players, after the match, have accused to Betis of "let win" by the Sporting de Gijón and in this context, Santi Vila (former mayor of Figueres) wrote in his Twitter account: "The fact that Betis let win by the Sporting de Gijón is more outrageous than the surprising motivation of the Lugo team agains the Girona". 

And this is not all, with all this confrontations in Montivili, the audience jumped infuriated to the football field to rebuke players of Lugo, thta have to be escorted by the private security of the Girona club. Even that, they couldn't leave Girona stadium untill 22:30 because outside of the stadium the Girona fans awaited them.

But this is not the end of the "Girona dream", they will fight for the risse at firts division in the playoff step, where they will face against Zaragoza, Las Palmas and the Valladolid. So at the moment, the teams that will be for sure playting in firts divison next year will be Betis and Sporting, and we would see what happen between this four teams in te playoof step. 

The 2015 Dr.Frankenstein

The Italian neuroscientist Sergio Canavero is convinced that  "In just two years, will be possible the whole body transplantation, so patients with quadriplegia, cancer or progressive muscular dystrophy may be able to replace their ill bodies for another healthy.

The idea sounds crazy and many of his friends think that it's impossible, but the Italian says that the last obstacle, the connection between the spinal cord of the donor with the spinal cord of the receiver, is already overtaken and it's expected that in June, the doctor present a project for perform this kind of transplantations. 

According with Canavero, the operation is completely practicable with the medical advances that exist, “it isn't necessary wait for discover something else” said. In fact, the experiments for the whole body transplantation, started the last century: in 1945, there was attempt of transplanted the head of one dog to another (although the animals could only survive between two and six days). Later, in the 70's, a British scientific tried to do the same but this time with two monkeys: the monkey could survive but it couldn't move because the scientific was not able to connect the spinal cord.

Now, according with the Italian doctor, this problem doesn’t exist, if an organ reject another, this could be solved with drugs. In any case, could be a rejection caused by a psychological reason (like in some face transplants) and in this sense, Canavero explains that three months before the operation, the patient must use a kind of virtual machine which will show like a picture of the patient with the body that will have after the operation. In this way, the patient wouldn't experience a psychological rejection. 

Even so, the process will be slowly: before the operation the patient will be into a coma for a month for avoid movements and then, the patient must be subjected to physical therapy to recovermotion. Further, the operation will last 36 hours and it will be needed between 100 and 150 professionals, and it's also possible that before the transplantation, the patient have a change of humor and character. For this last problem, Canavero proposed the cloning cells. 

Candidates ready for this kind of operations is not missing; the doctor says that he has received a lot of requests although the success is not fully insured. 

The project financing, ten millions euros, it's also expected: a researcher of Turín have publish a book about the head transplantation and the benefits of it will go to the first intervention.

So the only thing left to solve is where will be perform the first operation. According to Canavero, "the country that makes the first whole body transplantation will be like the first man to reach the moon, something that all countries should aspire". 

I think that this kind of "experiments" should be done for prove if it can be done or not. I don't know, maybe this operation it's possible and thanks to this doctor people who have to spend his live in a wheelchair or people who have the days of live count, can survived and have a better life although there is the problem of the change of humor an character (even so the doctor Canavero says that could also be solved). Anyway, if you are about to die and the doctors get to choose you between die or live but with another character, what would you say? It's a complicated topic.

I think that the main problem is ethical or moral. If we started to do this kind of operations, we will be doing the same as Dr.Frankenstein, nothing will be natural, I mean, you will born with one body and you will die with the body of another person! Or what it's worse, we could live forever. All seem to be a science fiction film...

Orizoba still keeping the secret

For over half a century, seven men who were climbing the north face of the Peak of Orizaba (Mexico) at a height of 5.300 meters, suffered an avalanche of snow and four of the group disappeared in it. The bodies were never found, but this week, a group of mountaineers that were crossing the area, found two of the four corpses that might be of those who disappeared 56 years ago (except if the DNA test says the otherwise).

The expedition of the City of Mexico found last Sunday one of the corpses by chance. One of the members of the expedition was climbing a crater when suddenly, slipped and fell. In this moment, he saw something round and he thought that it was a coconut, but it turn to be a skull. The mountaineers announced the discovery in the social networks and they warned to the Red Cross. The picture that they take of the head and one arm of the mummy was very successful and the Mexican Association of Mountaineers began to move quickly for exhume the mummy. Then, the second corpse was discovered hugging the first. They also found a red jumper, a jacket and a bag: remains of the expedition. 

Luis Espinoza, one of the seven men that were climbing the peak that November of 1959, still have a picture of that same day at the foot of the mountain where later, four of his friends would be missing until now. In the picture, we can see one of the group dressed in a red jumper. 

After almost a live, two of the members of his group had been found but two bodies still missing: the mountain still keeping the secret.

Why it's so hard to see black and blue?

Few days ago, the only think spoken in the social networks and the question that have the world without sleep was: Is the dress blue and black or white and golden? Well, taking advantage of the fame of this dress, the organization against the gender violence The Salvation Army, has carried out an advertising campaign with the catchword "Why is so hard to see black and blue" and a picture of a women full of bruises and dressing that famous dress (in this case, the dress is white and golden). The picture is also accompanied by another phrase that says the next: "The only illusion is think that has been her election. One in six women is a victim of the gender violence. Stop the gender violence". With this campaign, the organization want to show that even the most beautiful dress (or in this case, the most famous) can't cover the bruises of the woman skin, and it has been done because there are still people who can't see the reality of the problem of the gender violence (the 35% of the women in the world suffered gender violence). Using this dress, the organization wants that this message reach as many people as possible like the question of the color of the dress. 

After, for bolster the campaign, the same organization had publish another picture answering the question of the first ("Why is so hard to see black and blue?"): "Because they covered it with white and gold" and adding the phone number of the association and another phrase: "majority of women who are abused never report it".

I think hat it's a good advesrtiment and also, a good moment to publish it because coincide the fame of this dress with the day of the woman. Besides, The Salvation Army had turne a "silly" internet fasciantion into a powerfull awareness campaign. It's an original campaing with an original catchword for try to make aware the women that suffered abuses that they have to say it. The campaign also encourage to all the poeple who knows someone who is going throuht this situation to report too.

The train of the Magic Kings

The longest train journey has just begun: 21 days and 13.052 kilometers across icy plains at -30ºC, deserts and hug mountain ranges where Marco Polo walked! From one of the extrems of China, across Russia, Poland, Germany, France,... definetly, up to eight different countries with one ojective: reach the Spain capital, Madrid (if all goes well, the train would arrive the 9 of November). In the picture you can see the route that the train will do, from China to Madrid and how exceeds the record of the TransSiberian Railway (that until now was the longest train journey made) by far. 

It's going to be many replacaents of enginers drivers and watchers. Acording with the calculations of an american journalist that reach the new for the The New York Times, only between Kazajistán and Polonia, more than 100 enginer drivers took the train control, what menas that there is a change every 800 km.

The initiative of this Yixin'Ou (the name of the train) starts in China when the chineses wanted to make the new Silk Road. In the last months, Xi Jimping, the precident the country, has been committed to invert 32.000 million of euros in rail infraestructures with the objective of be the center point of the economic belt of this 21st century Silk Road. 

The segurity is extremly for prevent thefts in lawless regions. The wagons are guarded by an armed guards the 24 hours of the day and all the wagons have the "GSM technology", a stamp that shoot an alarm if the wagon is manipulate. 

The train is formed by 82 blue wagons: 1.000 tones of weigh and with a dimensiones of 12 meters of lenght, 2,35 meters of with and 2,70 meters of height; in total, 30.560 cubic meters full of  "made in China" products.

In Spain, for the days that this train is going to enter in the country and for all the toys that bring in their blue wagons (8 wagons are reserved for the Spain marked), it's know as The Train of The Tree Magic Kings. 

The train have a lot of advantatges as a trasnport methood, is faster than a boat, cheaper than a plane and can arrive to places that don't have port (like Madrid) and also, it doesn't miss anything from the trip, on his return to China, is going to pick up merchandises from all the countries crossed.

I think that the only fantastic thing about this train, is the long trip that it's going to do because the quantity of wagons that carries it's nothing compared with the high number of wagons that a cargo ship can carry (that is more than 10.000 wagons!). Anyway, it's incredible how chinese people always come up with new ways of surprise the world.

Rayo Vallecano, the voice of the concience

The football team Rayo Vallecano is going to destine five euros of each ticket sold this Sunday for the match against Sevilla with the purpose of paying the rental of Carmen Martínez Ayuso, the old woman of 85 years old that was evicted from his house. This gesture adds to the engagement of all the players, the coach and the others members of the club that days latter, announced they intention of pay the rental until the institutional helps arrives. 

This is not the first time that this team makes this kind of works of charity: only this moth, they had participated and had made several donations to associations for the cancer researcher, for disabled childrens,... and the last month, the club, offered his training camp for the team Deportivo Aviación before the city hall destroyed their because they can not afford the maintenance bills and in this way, they allowed that 400 children could continue playing football.

It's incredible all that this football team do without having the same high wages as the other "big teams" like Madrid, Barça, Atleti,... (it's also true that this big clubs do great things too). I think that this is an important lesson for all the politics, bankers and others leaders, they had done what the administration or the city hall don't and have to, thanks to they, this old woman have a ceiling for live and this is fantastic, it’s like a Christmas story... I think that this is a gets that no one should forget and many should copy.

Excalibur, the dog sacrificated for precaution

I decided to talk about this new because it's about one of the most spoken matters in the last days and it has caused a big impact in Social Networks like Twitter and Facebook where a lot of people, incluidin celebrities, has left their opinion about the measures taken and  has caused an important conflict in the streets as well.
Excalibur has been sacrificed for precaution in the face of the risk of been a carrier of Ebola. This happened despite the big campaing that the owners, especially the husband of the nurse that was infected by the virus, made to avoid it. A van of the University translated the death corpse of the dog to an incinerator between the protests of a crow formed by animalist groups and people of the surrounding. When the van was lefting the house the group of people that were waiting at the exit started to scream “Killers” and similars things to the people responsible of carrying out the operation, also, three women had lay on the road with the message: “Excalibur, the world is with you” .
The Ministry of Health says that they had sacrificed the dog because it was in constant contact with the sick nurse and there was the risk of contagion, thing that will supposed another risk: the transmission of the sickness to another person however the big conflict has appeared because never before has been a transmission between a person and a dog, and for this, a lot of people considered that there was no reason for finish with the live of the Excalibur without any proves. This fact has caused a big alteration in the social networks: the conflict has been “trending topic” in Twitter with the hashtag #SaveExcalibur where a lot of people, including some celebrities, have left his opinion.

 

In contrary with the opinion of most of the people, I think that sacrificing the dog Excalibur has been a good idea because there was the risk of contagion and prevent now it's better than cure after, also, you can’t know if a dog is infected or not because they don’t show symptoms, I mean, when a person is infected by Ebola, he or she have a number of symptoms like fever, head ache,… but the dogs doesn’t show anything, they are only careers and of course, they can infect other people and animals. It's also true that maybe, scientific, should have taken this “opportunity” for study the behavior of this virus in animals because for the moment we don’t know almost anything about this. Anyway, I’m continuing thinking that the decision taken was correct for the security of the population that at the end, is the most important thing.
